What you set up outside the theme editor

The few things Manifest uses that live elsewhere in Shopify admin, whether you need them, and where each guide is.

Almost everything in Manifest is set in the theme editor. A few features read things you set up elsewhere in your Shopify admin. None of them is required: each has a simpler way, and the store works without it.

  • Dietary preferences, allergens, certifications and other details for a kind of product: the product's category and its category details. No setup in the theme. See Product details with no setup.
  • A subtitle and a care guide on each product: Shopify's standard Product subtitle and Care guide fields, turned on once. See Product details with no setup.
  • Other details that change from product to product (badges, facts, icons, size charts): product metafields. Optional; you can type the text in the editor instead. See Show different details on each product.
  • Your own badges: a tag such as badge:New on the product, or a Badges metafield. Sale and Sold out badges are automatic. See Product badges.
  • Size charts: a page with your chart. One page for all products, or a page per product with a metafield. See Size charts.
  • Team pages: a page per person on the profile template, with four page fields. See Team pages and profiles.
  • Filters on collection pages and product suggestions: Shopify's free Search & Discovery app. See Filters and product suggestions.
  • Gift wrapping: a product you create, chosen in Theme settings, Cart. See Cart drawer, gift wrap and discounts.
  • Menus and dropdowns: Content, Menus. Menu promo cards appear under the top-level item whose name you type. See Header and menus.
  • Terms checkbox: your terms of service in Settings, Policies. See Cart drawer, gift wrap and discounts.
  • Countries, currencies and languages: Settings, Markets and Settings, Languages. See Countries, currencies and languages.
