Apps and integrations
How apps work with Manifest: app blocks, and Shopify's standard storefront events and cart actions.
Most apps add their features as app blocks or app embeds, which you place in the theme editor: under Add block in any section that accepts them, or under App embeds in Theme settings. Manifest needs no code changes for them.
Cart apps
Manifest supports Shopify's standard storefront events and actions. Apps that add to the cart (upsells, bundles, free gifts, loyalty rewards) can ask Manifest to update the cart, and the cart drawer refreshes in place, without the page reloading. Apps can also open the cart, and they are told when a shopper views a product, picks an option, filters a collection, searches or changes the cart, all without reading the theme's code.
For app developers
- Shopify.actions.updateCart and Shopify.actions.openCart are configured: updates refresh the drawer (or the cart page), and openCart opens the drawer.
- Events dispatched: shopify:page:view, shopify:product:view (product page and quick view), shopify:product:select, shopify:collection:view and shopify:collection:update, shopify:search:update, shopify:cart:view, shopify:cart:lines-update (adds, quantity changes, removals, subscription changes and gift wrap), shopify:cart:note-update, shopify:cart:attributes-update, shopify:cart:discount-update and shopify:cart:error.
- Cart events carry a promise that resolves with the updated cart, or with userErrors when the cart declines the change.
