Receipts: receive a payment, close invoices, export to SQL Account
Record money a customer paid, apply it to one or more of their invoices to close them, issue a numbered receipt, and export invoices, receipts and customers for SQL Account.

CustomersEvery payment gets a receipt with its own number (OR-00001; the prefix is under Invoice settings → Numbering). Receive payment records one payment and applies it across a customer’s open invoices; Record payment on a single invoice, and a card paid online, get a receipt too.
Receiving a payment
- Sales → Payments → Receive payment (or Receive payment on the customer’s Money tab).
- Choose the customer: those with invoices still due are listed.
- Type the amount received, the date and how they paid, and a transfer or cheque number if there is one.
- The amount fills their invoices oldest first; change any amount, or Fill oldest first to start again.
- Save and issue receipt. Invoices paid in full close; one paid in part stays open with less due.
What you receive beyond the invoices chosen is kept as credit on the customer’s account (their Money tab). The receipt shows what it paid and what it kept, and downloads as a PDF.
Voiding a receipt
An owner or admin can void a receipt entered by mistake, with a reason. Its payments come off the invoices, which reopen, and any credit it left is taken back. The number stays used; nothing is deleted.
Export to SQL Account
On Receipts, choose the dates and export: invoices (SQL Account’s customer invoice layout, a row per line), receipts (customer payment, a row per invoice it knocks off), and the customers on them. Load each file with SQL Account’s XLS/CSV import. Invoices brought in from another system are left out, since they are in your books already. Under Invoice settings → Accounting export, set the codes from your SQL Account: the sales account, the debtor control account, the bank or cash account for each way of paying, and the credit term. Each customer gets a code the first time they are exported (300-A0001), or set theirs on their Money tab to match SQL Account.
