Connecting Facebook Messenger

Sign in with Facebook, pick the Page; its messages arrive in the inbox.

Messenger
  1. Settings → Facebook Messenger → Connect a Facebook Page. Sign in with the Facebook account that manages the Page and allow doTask to read and answer its messages.
  2. If you manage several Pages, pick the one whose Messenger should land here. Messages to that Page then arrive in the inbox and replies go back through Messenger.
  3. A reply typed in the Page inbox or the Meta Business Suite is recorded here and hands the conversation to you — the AI Agent stops for it.

Once connected the page shows the Page and four checks: whether Meta delivers its messages to doTask (Check again asks Meta and re-subscribes), the Page token (it does not expire while the Page keeps doTask; Reconnect if Facebook ever revokes it), the last customer message (Send a test message opens the Page in Messenger), and failed sends in the last 7 days.

  • Meta’s window: you and the AI Agent may reply for 24 hours after the person’s last message; after that the conversation waits for them to write again, and the reply box says so. Replies by a person for up to 7 days need Meta’s Human Agent approval, which doTask does not have yet; the inbox opens that window by itself once it is granted. The same applies to Instagram.
  • Messenger belongs to Pages, not profiles. A personal profile cannot be connected.
  • Disconnect pauses the Page: conversations stay in the inbox, nothing is received or sent until it is connected again.

Switched off: a Facebook Page that was disconnected stays in the workspace, paused, so its conversations stay readable; it receives nothing. It is listed under Switched off on this page, with how many conversations it holds. Connect it again, or press Remove (owners and admins) to take it out of doTask for good: its conversations and their customers are deleted with it, after you confirm.
