Offers and coupon codes
One code per person, in an email or from the AI Agent — and a real Shopify discount when your store is connected.

Recommended offers for your business (top of Email → Offers; owners and admins see it): the presets picked from your workspace, each with the reason it fits — Welcome 10% when your welcome automation sends no code yet, Come back RM 20 off when customers are slipping away by their own buying rhythm (with how many), Social 15% when Instagram is connected. Use this offer opens New offer filled in from the preset; nothing is made until you save. An offer you already have (the same code prefix) is not suggested again; the X hides a card for you. Two more presets: First visit 15% (for a new customer’s first appointment, class, stay or job) and Bring a friend 10% (a code a customer passes on). With a business profile, the offers that suit your industry come first.
An offer says what a code is worth (a percentage or an amount off), how long it lasts from the day someone is given it, whether there is a minimum order, and how many codes may ever come out of it. The codes themselves are personal: each reader of a newsletter, each customer the AI Agent helps, gets their own — which is the difference between a discount and a code that ends up on a deal site.
Where the code is made. With a Shopify store connected, doTask creates a real discount code in the store, usable once, with your rules on it; the customer types it at checkout and it works, with nothing else to set up. Without a store, doTask generates the code and the list on the offer page is the record — search it when a customer reads a code out to you. If Shopify refuses a code (usually the app has not been granted permission to write discounts, or the store was disconnected) the customer is still given one and the reason is shown on the offer, because a code nobody honors is worse than no code.
How to hand them out. In an email: add a Coupon block, choose “a different code for each reader”, and pick the offer — in a newsletter, or in an automation’s email step, so the welcome series or the win-back carries a code. In a chat: AI Agent → Configure → “Offers the AI Agent may give”, tick the ones it may use, and it can give a code when your rules say it should. By hand: “Give me a code” on the offer page.
The rule that makes this safe to automate: one person gets one code per offer, ever. A resend, a re-entered automation, or a customer asking the assistant three times all hand back the same code. Cap the offer with “stop after … codes” if it is going anywhere public.
- Email → Offers → a preset, or New offer.
- Say what it is worth and where the code is made.
- Switch on, then press “Give me a code” to see exactly what a customer will read.
- Put a Coupon block in an email and pick the offer, or let the AI Agent give it.
