PDF tools: edit, sign, convert and organise PDFs
PDF tools (the page icon in the menu) edits, signs, fills, joins, splits, turns, shrinks and converts PDFs, and reads the words in photos, all on your own device.

Team and settingsPDF tools holds 23 tools in four groups: Edit and sign, Organise, Convert from PDF and Convert to PDF. Everyone in the workspace can use them. Your files are opened and changed in your browser; they are not uploaded to doTask or kept anywhere, so close the page and they are gone. Download what you made before you leave.
Edit, annotate and sign
Edit PDF, Annotate PDF, Sign PDF and Fill PDF open the same page editor with different tools at the top. Choose a tool, then tap or drag on the page. Select moves what you added; drag its corner to resize it; Remove (or the Delete key) takes it away and Undo puts it back. Save PDF writes everything into a new file to download.
- Text: tap where it goes and type. Pick the size, colour and bold at the top.
- Cover up: drag over words or a picture to cover them with white, then add Text on top to replace them. What is underneath is hidden, not removed from the file.
- Highlight, Underline and Strike out: drag across the words.
- Note: tap to leave a comment; PDF readers list it with their comments.
- Signature and Initials: tap where to sign. The first time, draw it, type it or upload a photo of it on white paper (the white is removed). After that, each tap places it again until you leave the page.
- Date, Tick and Cross: tap to stamp today’s date or mark a box.
- Picture, Box, Circle, Line, Arrow and Draw: add your own marks.
Fill PDF puts a typing box over every box of a fillable form: type, tick and choose, then Save PDF. Lock the answers makes them part of the page so nobody can change them in a PDF reader. A form without boxes of its own (a scanned form) is filled with Text and Tick instead.
Convert and edit takes a Word, Excel or picture file, turns it into a PDF and opens it in the editor.
Organise
Merge PDF joins PDFs and pictures into one file in the order you set. Split PDF cuts a file by page ranges (1-3, 4-6), every few pages, every page, or takes out the pages you tap; several new files download one by one or together as a .zip. Rotate PDF and Delete pages show every page: turn them, remove them, or move them earlier or later, then Save PDF. Compress PDF makes a file smaller: Light keeps the text as text; Recommended and Smallest turn each page into a picture, which shrinks scans and photos a lot but means the text can no longer be selected.
Convert
PDF to Word gives you the text as headings and paragraphs to change (or, with Exact look, each page as a picture). PDF to Excel puts text that lines up in columns into cells, with numbers as numbers. PDF to PowerPoint makes one slide per page with the page’s text in the speaker notes. PDF to JPG, PNG and image save each page as a picture at the sharpness you pick.
Word to PDF and Excel to PDF take .docx, .xlsx and .csv files; save an older .doc or .xls in the newer format first. Text, headings, lists, tables and pictures are kept, but fonts, colours and exact spacing can differ from Word or Excel. JPG, PNG and Image to PDF put pictures on pages, at their own size or on A4 or Letter. PowerPoint to PDF is coming soon; until then, export from PowerPoint or Keynote with File, then Export, then PDF.
Image to text reads the words in photos, screenshots and scanned PDFs, in English, Bahasa Melayu and simplified or traditional Chinese. Pick every language in the picture. The first time, the reader downloads once (about 10 MB). Check names and numbers before you use them.
Locked and large files
A PDF locked with a password asks for it; the password is used on your device only. Tools that change a file (edit, merge, split, rotate) need a copy without the password: open it in a PDF reader and save it again without one. Files up to 100 MB open; on a phone, very large files can run out of memory, so use a computer for those.
