Getting paid for bookings
Connect your own Stripe for card payments at booking time, or tell customers how else to pay.

Team and settingsTwo options, and both can stand. Card payments: Settings → Sales → Online payments → Connect Stripe links your own Stripe account (or creates one at Stripe in a few minutes). The money goes to your Stripe balance and your bank on Stripe’s usual fees; you keep your own Stripe dashboard, refunds and disputes. doTask only starts the payment on your behalf. Another way: a note in your words — pay on arrival, bank details, a payment link — shown on the confirmation and in the confirmation email whenever a service takes nothing online.
- Connect Stripe and finish onboarding; the card goes green when charges are enabled (Check status looks now; it also updates on its own).
- Bookings → Services → a service → Payment: nothing, a deposit (a fixed amount), or the full price.
- A customer booking such a service is sent to Stripe Checkout right after choosing the slot. The slot is held for 30 minutes as “Awaiting payment”; once paid it turns Confirmed. An unpaid hold is released so the time is free again.
- On the booking, the paid amount shows with its Stripe reference; refunds are done in your Stripe dashboard.
Paying through your Shopify store
If your store is on Shopify, bookings are paid through your own Shopify checkout: Stripe card payments are not offered to Shopify stores, so every payment stays inside Shopify. The customer picks the time in doTask, then checks out in your store with the product added once per guest; the paid order confirms the booking by itself.
- Bookings → Services → a service → Payment when booking: Shopify checkout, then choose the product. Its price in Shopify is what the customer pays.
- A customer who books is sent to your checkout; the booking waits as “Awaiting payment” for 30 minutes, as with Stripe.
- When Shopify tells doTask about the paid order, the booking turns Confirmed and shows the order number. An order placed but not yet paid (a bank transfer) keeps the time held until the payment comes in.
- The AI Agent does the same in a chat: it holds the time and sends the customer the checkout link.
