Getting started
Searching your workspace
One box finds conversations, people, bookings, invoices, products, help and settings, by the words you type or by what you mean.

Getting startedRead it in the appThe same article opens from Help inside app.dotask.io, beside the screen it describes.
Click Search in the top bar (the magnifier on a phone) or press ⌘K (Ctrl K on Windows). Matches for the words you type show at once; a moment after you stop typing, doTask also looks for what you mean and adds those, marked Related.
What it looks through
- Pages and settings: ask in your own words, for example “where do I change my WhatsApp number” or “invite a colleague”.
- Conversations, including what customers and your team wrote in them.
- Contacts and leads: names, email addresses, tags, stage, and phone numbers written any way (012-345 6789 finds +60123456789).
- Tickets, bookings (by customer, service or booking code), invoices and payments (by number, customer or what was sold).
- Products, menu items and bookable services; help articles and the AI Agent’s knowledge; tasks.
Languages
Search by meaning understands English, Malay and Chinese, and finds a record written in one language from a question in another.
What you see
- Results are grouped by kind; the group with the best match comes first. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or tap a row.
- You only see what you could open yourself: records of the workspace you are in, and invoices, payments and menu prices only if your role may see Sales (never in Staff mode).
- Private notes about clients, visit notes, form answers, emergency contacts, notes on conversations and bookings’ internal notes are never searched. Open the client’s record to read them.
Limits
Searching by words has no limit. On the Free plan, search by meaning covers 300 searches and 2,000 records a month; after that the words still work, and it starts again next month. Paid plans have no limit.
TipNew and changed records can be found by their words straight away; finding them by meaning follows within a few minutes.
