What doTask AI can do
Set your workspace up from cards you say yes or no to, switch things on, explain, and take you to the right screen.

doTask AIRead it in the appThe same article opens from Help inside app.dotask.io, beside the screen it describes.
The doTask AI button in the top bar opens an assistant that knows the state of your workspace: what is set up, what is connected, what is missing. It also knows the page you opened it on: the box at the top says what it can do there, and the quick actions under it are that page’s most useful changes, one tap each.
- Ask for a change — “create a 30-minute haircut service”, “save a canned reply for opening hours”, “invite anna@…” — and it shows each change as a card. Say Yes or No on each, then press Set up: the cards you said yes to run one at a time, each showing Done or why it failed (it stops there). A finished card has Open (where it lives) and Revert; a Flow, survey or banner it made as a draft has an Activate button to switch it on.
- Ask for a setup — “set up the AI Agent for my clinic”, “qualify property buyers before an agent calls”, “add a survey on the pricing page” — and it first asks the few questions it needs (your services, hours, what makes a lead worth a call) as a short form, then proposes the whole plan from your answers: business description, knowledge, rules, a question set, hours, services, a survey or banner. Steps only you can do (connecting WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or Shopify, putting the chat on your website) come as cards with a Go button that takes you there. “Set up my workspace for me” does all of this in one go, including the chat widget’s colour, title, greeting and starter questions. For selling and bookings it can also put services, products, packages of sessions and discounts on the Checkout menu, create membership plans, switch on booking reminders (email, or WhatsApp with an approved template you name), set the cancellation and no-show policy (the booking page then states it), and publish the booking page. Every step can be reverted from its card.
- For WhatsApp it writes message templates and submits them to Meta for approval: utility for reminders and confirmations (no offers in them, or Meta moves them to marketing), marketing for anything promotional, always with “Reply STOP to opt out”. It also writes your STOP and START replies in your own words. A WhatsApp booking reminder waits until Meta approves its template.
- For a team it creates departments, routing rules (who a handed-off conversation goes to, by channel or by what the customer wants) and reply-time targets the inbox counts down against. Notification settings are each person’s own, so it takes you there instead.
- For invoices it fills in what every new invoice prints: your registered name, address, company and tax numbers, payment terms, bank details for transfers and your tax rates. Card payments need your own Stripe account, which only you can connect, so it gives you a card that takes you to Online payments.
- For email it creates the automations recommended for your business (as drafts: Switch on from the card), saves ready-made segments, and drafts a newsletter in the designer for you to finish and send.
- Ask “am I ready to go live?” and it shows a checklist that ticks itself off as things get set up, each open item with a button to do it. Give it your website’s address and it checks the chat is really on the page. A contacts file comes from your computer, so it opens the importer for you.
- Ask how something works and it explains, and offers to open the screen.
- Ask what to do next and it reads the setup conditions and proposes the steps.
What it never does
- It does not change anything you did not say yes to and set up.
- It does not send messages to customers, emails or invitations on its own. A WhatsApp template goes to Meta for review, not to anyone; a newsletter stays a draft until you send it.
- It does not connect channels — that needs your Meta login — but it takes you to the right screen.
- It does not invent figures; every usage is recorded like the other AI tools.
